Cape Town to Pretoria by Rovos Rail

Day 1                                                    
Board your train ‘The Pride of Africa’ & depart Cape Town station (approx 11am). Trundle through the winelands of the Western Cape towards Worcester, whilst enjoying Tea in the lounge and observation cars. Tonight, dinner is served in the dining cars.              

Day 2              
After breakfast, arrive in the quaint village of Matjiesfontein, restored to its Victorian glory and disembark for an opportunity to stroll through the historic village. Reboard the train as it continues its journey, through the Karoo, a vast semi-desert region that was once an enormous inland sea. Take in the scenery, whilst enjoying Tea in the lounge and observation cars. Tonight, dinner is served in the dining cars.                  

Day 3                
After breakfast this morning, you will arrive into the diamond rush town of Kimberley. Capital of the Northern Cape, Kimberley is known for the discovery of diamonds that led to its establishment in 1871, learn more as you enjoy a tour of the Diamond Mine Museum and the Big Hole. Return to the train for lunch, as it journeys northeast towards the broad grassland plains of the Highveld. Tonight, dinner is served in the dining cars.              

Day 4            
Admire the views from the Observation Car as you enjoy a final breakfast onboard. This morning the train continues through the Free State and Gauteng before arriving into Kookrus Station, just south of Pretoria. From here you will be transferred onwards to Johannesburg or Pretoria.*
