Itinerary
Days 2-4 Cape Town
Explore this fascinating city from the restaurants and attractions of the V&A Waterfront to the views from Table Mountain. Join a group tour to the rugged Cape Peninsula, which includes a fabulous coastal drive along Chapman’s Peak en route to the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve.
Days 5-6 Cape Town to Cape Winelands
Pick up your car and drive into the heart of the beautiful Cape Winelands. Spend the next couple of days discovering the history behind the region’s wineries and vineyards, renowned as some of the best in the world.
Days 7-8 Cape Winelands to Oudtshoorn
Take the scenic route to Oudtshoorn, driving through picturesque vineyards and the captivating Du Toitskloof Pass. Perhaps take a tour of the fascinating Cango Caves and its spectacular limestone formations.
Days 9-10 Oudtshoorn to Wilderness
On this journey south you will enter the Garden Route, a spectacular coastal drive with dramatic seascapes. Arrive at Wilderness, a quaint village known for its lakes, natural lagoons, and beautiful stretch of white sand beach.
Day 11 Wilderness to Plettenberg Bay
After breakfast, hug the coast until you reach the harbourside town of Knysna, where, time permitting, you can enjoy a boat trip on the calm waters for stunning views through the Knysna Heads. Continue on to charming ‘Plett’ in time for dinner.
Days 12-13 Plettenberg Bay
Explore the beaches and upmarket boutiques in town, the many wildlife sanctuaries on your doorstep, or visit Tsitsikamma National Park, home to indigenous forest, deep river gorges and spectacular waterfalls.
Day 14 Plettenberg Bay to Eastern Cape GR
Leaving the Garden Route behind, continue on to your Eastern Cape lodge, arriving in time for lunch and your first thrilling game drive.
Days 15-16 Eastern Cape GR
Morning and afternoon game drives in this wildlife-rich region offer the chance to spot an abundance of game.
Days 17-18 Fly home
Enjoy one last morning game drive before driving back to Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth) and dropping off your car in time for your flight.
Additional Options: Immerse yourself in the historic yet lively Cape Dutch town of Stellenbosch, filled with local life and streets lined with bustling cafés, high-end restaurants, and casual bistros. In contrast, French-inspired Franschhoek offers a more intimate atmosphere and boasts an idyllic valley setting.
