South Africa by Rail & Luxury Mauritius

Days 1-2  Cape Town  
Arrive into Cape Town, your home for the next 3 days. With the iconic Table Mountain, pleasant V&A Waterfront and stylish Camps Bay, there is plenty to explore.          

Day 3  Cape Town          
On day 3, discover the best of the Constantia Wine Valley whilst being chauffeured in your private, open top Jeep. Travel through the vineyards to reach beautiful lookout spots for private tastings and gourmet delicacies, whilst learning about the oldest vineyards in the valley from an in-house sommelier.            

Days 4-6  Rovos Rail  
Board your train on the afternoon of day 4 for an unforgettable journey across South Africa’s wild heart. Leaving Cape Town behind, take in the spectacular scenery from scenic winelands towards Karoo, a vast semi-desert region that was once an enormous inland sea. The next day enjoy a leisurely morning before an off train excursion at Kimberley, the diamond capital of Africa. Re-board the train for an elegant evening meal as the sun sets across the African wilderness.        

Day 7  Johannesburg            
Admire the views from the Observation Car as the train continues through the Free State before arriving into Kookrus Station, just south of Johannesburg, on arrival you will be transferred onwards to your hotel.              

Day 8  Johannesburg to Sabi Sand Game Reserve        
Today, it’s time to head to Kruger National Park for your safari experience. Take a light aircraft** direct to Ulusaba’s private airstrip, set within the renowned Sabi Sand Game Reserve.            

Days 9-10  Sabi Sand Game Reserve      
With twice daily game drives, your expert rangers will impart knowledge about the fascinating animal kingdom of the bush. Back at camp, relax in your luxurious surrounds and swap safari stories with your fellow guests over candlelit dinners.        

Day 11  Sabi Sand Game Reserve to Johannesburg        
Enjoy one last morning game drive before transferring back to Johannesburg on light aircraft to connect on to your flight home.

Days 12-17  Johannesburg to Mauritius          
Today, head to the beautiful island of Mauritius with its dramatic volcanic peaks encircled by golden sands. Enjoy picturesque views across the turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean, ensuring a relaxing end to your trip.
