Itinerary
Fly to Santiago. Upon arrival the following day, transfer to your hotel and enjoy the rest of the day and evening at leisure.
Day 3 Fly to Puerto Williams and board Silver Cloud
Day 5 New Island & West Point Island
Day 6 Port Stanley, the Falkland Islands
You’ll find local pubs, a post office and opportunities to mingle with the hardy locals at the distinctly British capital of Stanley. The biologically diverse Falkland Islands are also home to whales, dolphins, enormous albatross and an abundance of penguins nesting on the rugged coastline.
Days 9-11 South Georgia
Admire South Georgia’s staggering profusion of wildlife and fascinating history. Marvel at calling birds, elephant seals and crowds of king penguins stretching out as far as the eye can see. You can also visit the memorial to Shackleton that stands over his final resting place on this fabled island.
Day 14 Elephant Island
Named for the elephant seals that early explorers spotted lounging on its rocks, Elephant Island is a haven for nature and wildlife lovers. Sail amid breathtaking winter vistas and follow in the footsteps of the brave explorers who first sought out this volcanic island.
Day 15 Antarctic Sound
Days 16-17 Antarctic Peninsula
Set foot on the Earth’s last great wilderness frontier. Gaze in awe at towering icebergs, saw-toothed mountains and incredible wildlife including unimaginably large penguin rookeries, inquisitive seals and huge whales breaching from icy waters.
Day 18 South Shetland Islands
Day 19 Drake Passage scenic cruising
Days 20-21 Disembark in Port Williams and fly to Santiago
Days 22-23 Fly home from Santiago, arriving the following day
Days not listed are spent relaxing at sea.
