Itinerary:

Day 1  Sydney to Canberra  
Depart early for Australia’s capital, Canberra. See the Southern Highlands en route with a stop at historic Berrima and Gold Creek Station. Upon arrival, enjoy a guided tour of Parliament House and an evening welcome dinner with your tour director and fellow travellers.  

Day 2  Canberra to Wangaratta
This morning, visit the summit of Mount Ainslie for panoramic views of the city below and the surrounding ranges. Cross the mighty Murray River into Victoria to historic Beechworth, Victoria’s best preserved gold rush town.    

Day 3  Wangaratta to Melbourne  
Travel through Ned Kelly country to Glenrowan, the site of the ranger’s famous last stand. Continue to cosmopolitan Melbourne and embark on an orientation tour upon arrival. Enjoy an evening at leisure to perhaps take a stroll along Southbank.  

Day 4  Melbourne  
Enjoy a day at leisure to explore this charming city. Discover the cafés, galleries, museums and parks or alternatively, join an optional tour to see the famous Penguin Parade on Phillip Island.

Day 5  Melbourne to Warrnambool  
Marvel at the spectacular scenery of the Great Ocean Road, one of the world’s greatest road trips. Enjoy plentiful photo opportunities of the stunning coastal scenery and quaint seaside towns, as well as the iconic Twelve Apostles and Loch Ard Gorge en route to Warrnambool.  

Day 6  Warrnambool to Naracoorte  
Visit the Worn Gundidj Aboriginal Co-operative at Tower Hill State Game Reserve for an Aboriginal perspective on the flora, wildlife and volcanic formations of this fascinating geological area. Cross the border into South Australia and visit Mount Gambier to see the mysterious Blue Lake. Continue to the world-renowned Coonawarra wine region for a tasting before joining a local expert for a tour of Alexandra Cave at Naracoorte.  

Day 7  Naracoorte to Kangaroo Island  
Explore the charming seaside town of Victor Harbor on the Fleurieu Peninsula, before boarding the ferry to Kangaroo Island. Visit South Australia’s only boutique distillery to taste a selection of their award-winning gin before heading to Kingscote.  

Day 8  Kangaroo Island
See the Remarkable Rocks and Admiral’s Arch in Flinders Chase National Park. Visit Hanson Bay Wildlife Sanctuary to learn of their efforts rehabilitating injured animals due to the bush fires, before walking among a colony of sea lions at Seal Bay Conservation Park.    

Day 9  Kangaroo Island to Adelaide  
Take a morning ferry back to the mainland and travel to the ‘festival city’, Adelaide. Explore at leisure this afternoon, perhaps visit the Art Gallery of South Australia or embark on a guided walking tour.  

Day 10  Barossa Valley
Head for the rolling Adelaide Hills and Barossa Valley to explore this world-famous wine region. Visit the German settlement of Hahndorf and explore the quaint treelined streets. After lunch, head to Seppeltsfield to sample some of their wines then travel back through the tranquil landscape to Adelaide and enjoy a farewell dinner with your fellow travellers.  

Day 11  Adelaide  
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your onward travels.
