Itinerary
Day 3 Cairns
Welcome to Cairns! Upon arrival, spend your first day in this lively waterside city and explore its buzzing marina.
Days 4-6 Cairns to Port Douglas
Today, pick up your motorhome and take the short but scenic drive north to one of Queensland’s most loved and relaxed towns, beautiful Port Douglas. Spend several days exploring the incredible marine life of the Barrier Reef as well as the ancient Daintree Rainforest. Nature lovers will be in paradise!
Days 7-8 Port Douglas to Mission Beach
Head south to Mission Beach, popular with tourists and locals alike. Mission Beach boasts over eight miles of sweeping beaches, alfresco restaurants and a thriving arts scene.
Days 9-10 Mission Beach to Airlie Beach
Continue down the coast to Airlie Beach, the gateway to the spectacular Whitsunday Islands. We highly recommend cruising the tropical island on a sailing catamaran or high-speed boat, visiting picture perfect Whitehaven Beach. For something truly unforgettable, take to the skies by helicopter to see the crystal clear water and Barrier Reef from above.
Day 11 Airlie Beach to Rockhampton
Set off early for your longest drive from Airlie Beach to Rockhampton via Eungella National Park, Queensland’s largest rainforest. Explore the bush tracks and keep your eyes peeled for a possible glimpse of the shy platypus in its natural habitat.
Day 12 Rockhampton to Hervey Bay
Continue to the relaxed Hervey Bay, known for its exceptional whale watching between July and October.
Days 13-14 Hervey Bay to Rainbow Beach
Spend a few days near Rainbow Beach, the gateway to the stunning K’gari (Fraser Island). The following day head over to the world’s largest sand island and spend the day exploring the sights from an all-terrain vehicle. Visit 75 Mile Beach, look out for wild dingoes and take a dip in Lake McKenzie before heading back to Rainbow Beach.
Days 15-16 Rainbow Beach to Noosa
Beautiful Noosa will linger long in the memory and is sure to be a highlight of any Australia holiday. Upmarket Noosa Heads boasts a stunning beach, chic restaurants and café culture.
Days 17-18 Fly home
Drive back to Brisbane and drop off your motorhome in time for your flight home.
