Days 1-2 Launceston to Bicheno
Arrive in Tasmania and take a tour of the Mine & Heritage Centre before joining your fellow travellers for a welcome dinner. On day two, drive through the vineyards of northern Tasmania to the East Coast Natureworld to see a Tasmanian Devil, then continue along the magnificent coastline to Freycinet National Park.
Day 3 Bicheno to Port Arthur
Enjoy an insightful walk in Freycinet National Park before reaching Richmond, home to the oldest useable bridge in Australia. Continue past the spectacular Tasman arch to Port Arthur.
Day 4 Port Arthur
Embark on a guided tour of the Port Arthur Historic Site, once Australia’s most notorious convict prison. Join a cruise around the Isle of the Dead and hear haunting stories about the convicts buried there.
Day 5 Port Arthur to Hobart
Explore quaint Hobart with an orientation tour taking in Salamanca Place, Constitution Dock and the pretty harbour. You may choose to join an optional full day excursion to beautiful Bruny Island.
Day 6 Hobart to Strahan
Travel inland to Mount Field National Park for a short walk to the famous three-tiered Russell Falls. Stop on the shores of Lake St Clair to marvel at the pristine wilderness, before continuing to the attractive seaside town of Strahan for dinner overlooking the harbour.
Day 7 Strahan to Cradle Mountain NP
The Gordon River is the heart of the Franklin-Gordon Wild Rivers National Park. Join a cruise aboard the new Spirit of the Wild and enjoy this stunning river, famous for its mirror-perfect reflections. Travel on to encounter Tasmanian nature at its finest in Cradle Mountain.
Day 8 Cradle Mountain NP to Smithton
Soak up the serenity of Cradle MountainLake St Clair National Park with its impressive range of native flora and fauna. Visit Waldheim Chalet and the peaceful shores of Dove Lake for an insight into the early history of the park. Continue to the fishing village of Stanley, set in the shadow of ‘The Nut’ – a striking rocky outcrop, then onto the town of Smithton to enjoy a Tasmanian inspired dinner.
Day 9 Smithton to Launceston
Journey back to Launceston, stopping at the House of Anvers for a tasting of delicious handmade chocolates. Continue to the Great Lake Plateau and enjoy the scenic views from the shores of the Great Lake. Tonight, enjoy a farewell dinner with your fellow travellers in Launceston.
Day 10 Launceston
Transfer to the airport for your onward flight.
