Day 1 Hobart
Arrive in Tasmania and transfer to your hotel. Explore Hobart with an orientation tour taking in Salamanca Place, Constitution Dock and Mount Nelson for amazing views overlooking the city. This evening, join your tour director and fellow travellers for a welcome dinner.
Day 2 Hobart to Strahan
Travel west to New Norfolk and magnificent Mount Field National Park, Tasmania’s oldest national park. Visit the spectacular three-tiered Russell Falls before taking the winding journey to Lake St. Clair. Continue through Queenstown alongside the UNESCO World Heritage protected Franklin-Gordon Wild Rivers National Park to the coastal town of Strahan.
Day 3 Strahan to Cradle Mountain NP
Enjoy a spectacular Gordon River Cruise to admire the beauty of the dark waters in this untouched wilderness. Visit Sarah Island for an insight into Tasmania’s convict history, before continuing your journey past Hells Gates en route to stunning Cradle Mountain National Park.
Day 4 Cradle Mountain NP to Smithton
Explore the beauty of Cradle Mountain National Park this morning. Visit Dove Lake for amazing views of the mountain and keep your eyes peeled for Bennetts wallabies and echidnas grazing through the alpine heathlands. This afternoon, make your way along the Bass Strait through the fishing village of Stanley to see ‘The Nut’ – a striking rocky outcrop, and continue to Smithton.
Day 5 Smithton to Launceston
Travel along the picturesque north west coastline, passing through seaside towns to Mount Roland. Continue to Launceston, visiting a cheese factory en route for a taste of some samples.
Day 6 Launceston
Visit spectacular Cataract Gorge, boasting the longest single pan chairlift in the world. Explore Launceston on a guide tour, before enjoying some free time to explore further at leisure this afternoon.
Day 7 Launceston to Bicheno
Travel through Tasmania’s vineyards to Bridestowe Lavender Estate. Visit Legerwood Carved Memorial Trees, planted in honour of fallen WW1 soldiers, before continuing along the east coast to Bicheno.
Day 8 Bicheno to Hobart
Explore the stunning coastline of Freycinet National Park. Walk through the park to Cape Tourville for amazing views across the brilliant blue water, lush forest and golden beaches, before continuing your journey to Hobart.
Day 9 Port Arthur
Cross Eaglehawk Neck peninsula and cruise around the Isle of the Dead to embark on a guided tour of Port Arthur, Tasmania’s most notorious convict prison. Cruise back to Hobart and see Pirate’s Bay Lookout, Tasman’s Arch and Devil’s Kitchen en route. Enjoy a farewell dinner with your fellow travellers this evening.
Day 10 Hobart
Your tour comes to an end after breakfast this morning.
