Itinerary

Day 1  Fly to Perth    

Day 2  Perth    
Start your memorable Australian rail journey in laidback Perth. Why not visit pretty King’s Park and the lush Botanical Gardens?    

Day 3  Perth    
Spend your morning exploring the city at your own pace. Later, embark on a sunset and stargazing tour to see the impressive Pinnacles Desert. Admire the changing sunset colours over the otherworldly landscape and enjoy gazing up into the starry night sky.    

Days 4-5  Perth  
Take a ferry over to Rottnest Island and spend the day exploring this picturesque nature reserve by bike. Go in search of the native friendly quokka and enjoy snorkelling in turquoise waters amongst beautiful marine life. Spend the next day at leisure around Perth.    

Days 6-7  Indian Pacific  
Experience two nights on board the Indian Pacific, travelling from Perth to Adelaide. Soak up the spectacular views as you cross borders and time zones, enjoy a regionally inspired menu paired with local wines, explore Kalgoorlie, and visit the ghost-town of Cook for some post dinner drinks.    

Days 8-9  Adelaide  
Disembark the Indian Pacific in Adelaide and spend the next few days discovering this bustling city at your own pace. Perhaps stroll down lively Rundle Street or explore the vibrant laneways packed with alfresco cocktail bars and eateries.

Day 10  Adelaide    
Spend the day wine tasting in Australia’s premium wine region, Barossa Valley. Admire the stunning rolling vineyards, visit an Australian homestead’s cellar door, and enjoy a gourmet lunch paired with estate wines.    

Day 11  Adelaide    
Enjoy your final day in Adelaide at leisure. You could visit Adelaide Central Market or the South Australian Museum.    

Days 12-13  Great Southern    
Journey between Adelaide and Brisbane, passing rugged coastline and spectacular inland scenery, all from the comfort of your cabin. Relax as you enjoy world-class service coupled with off-train excursions in the Grampians, Canberra, and Coffs Harbour.    

Days 14-16  Brisbane    
Disembark from the Great Southern and arrive in Brisbane. On the final day, visit the idyllic Tangalooma Island Resort and pack in a day of activities from a catamaran cruise and sandboarding to hand feeding the resident dolphins.    
     
Days 17-18  Fly home    

Departs: Frequent departures, Jan, Feb & Dec
