Days 1-2 Anchorage
Collect your car on arrival and explore Alaska’s largest city, which boasts strong Native American connections, excellent museums and an abundance of restaurants.
Day 3 Anchorage to Talkeetna
Travel north to historic Talkeetna, an eclectic frontier town situated south of Denali.
Day 4 Talkeetna
Spend the day enjoying the wealth of outdoor activities on offer or perhaps a pre-booked flightseeing trip over stunning Denali and the nearby glaciers.
Day 5 Talkeetna to Denali NP
Continue north to breathtaking Denali National Park, over 6 million acres in size. The afternoon is free to explore the area and drop by the informative Visitor Center.
Day 6 Denali NP
Join the Tundra Wilderness day tour, which ventures into the far reaches of the park and offers a chance to spot native Alaskan wildlife.
Day 7 Denali NP to Fairbanks
Wind your way north through the heart of the Alaskan countryside to Fairbanks. Enjoy a stroll in Pioneer Park and sample local cuisine in one of the city’s many restaurants.
Day 8 Fairbanks
Visit the fantastic University of Alaska Museum or head out of town to explore the beautiful Chena River area.
Day 9 Fairbanks to Copper Center
Take a long drive south on the scenic Richardson Highway past the remote Mentasta Mountain range.
Day 10 Copper Center to Valdez
Continue south through stunning mountain scenery to the waterside town of Valdez. The town’s small museums tell the story of the region’s intriguing history.
Day 11 Valdez
Set against a natural backdrop of fjords and mountains, Valdez enjoys a breathtaking setting. Enjoy a narrated Columbia Glacier Cruise to marvel at the icy scenery.
Day 12 Valdez to Girdwood
Depart Valdez early for a long but scenic drive to the lush alpine town of Girdwood.
Day 13 Girdwood to Seward
Soak up the picturesque backdrop of Mt Alyeska, perhaps board the aerial tram for fantastic mountain views, pre-book a thrilling glacier dog sledding adventure, or visit the nearby craft brewery to sample the local brew.
Day 14 Seward
Continue south to historic Seward, surrounded by mountains and fjords and an ideal base from which to enjoy a wildlife cruise or learn about marine animal rehabilitation at the Sea Life Center.
Day 15 Seward to Anchorage
Drive along the scenic Turnagain Arm passing rolling hills and Portage Glacier on your final journey back to Anchorage.
