Canadian Rockies Winter Wonderland

Days 1-2  Calgary  
Fly into Calgary and spend the next day exploring the city. If there is a game on while you’re in town, pick up tickets to see a Calgary Flames ice hockey match.      

Day 3  Calgary to Banff      
Join your shared transfer this morning and head west. Soon, the beautiful snow covered Rocky Mountains come into view.    

Days 4-5  Banff  
Join the locals celebrating the winter season at the annual SnowDays festival, a month-long event held early in the year, packed with fantastic activities including a downtown skating rink and ice playground. Try snowshoeing, take a horse-drawn sleigh ride and travel on Banff Gondola for mountain top winter views of Banff and beyond. Be sure to make time to hit the snow tube park at Mount Norquay, before warming up with a soak in the famous Upper Hot Springs.  

Day 6  Banff to Lake Louise      
After a short drive, take a stroll along the shores of the frozen lake and visit the luxurious Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise for dining with dazzling views.  

Day 7  Lake Louise      
Hire some skates and hit the most scenic ice rink in the world. If you’re visiting in late January, marvel at the ice sculptures at the Ice Magic festival.      

Day 8  Lake Louise to Jasper      
The next stop on this magical winter wonderland journey is Jasper. Travel north along the Icefields Parkway in the comfort of your small, shared transfer, past glacier fed valleys surrounded by snow white mountains.      

Days 9-11  Jasper      
Jasper National Park takes on a serene beauty during the winter months, as the snow and ice transforms the striking mountain landscape. Hit the slopes of nearby Marmot Basin ski resort, which offers a huge variety of runs for all abilities and has a friendly and uncrowded ambience. Back in town, settle into one of the cosy pubs.  

Day 12  Jasper to Edmonton      
Leave the Rockies today and travel towards vibrant Edmonton.      

Day 13  Edmonton      
Catch one of the many exciting festivals which take place in Edmonton throughout the winter, rent a pair of skates and take to the ice at Hawrelak Park, or take another opportunity to watch an ice hockey game.    

Day 14  Edmonton      
Spend a final day in the city before travelling to the airport to fly home.
