Day 1 Campbell River to Sonora Resort
Arrive at this Relais & Chateaux resort via a boat transfer from Campbell River or by air directly from Vancouver (additional cost). Greeted by friendly resort staff you will be introduced to your ocean view room housed within one of 12 luxurious cedar and glass lodges. Relax by the pool or explore the majestic wilderness environment on a hiking trail before your first taste of the culinary delights on offer. Enjoy seasonal ingredients that are brought to life using traditional old world techniques accompanied by a glass of excellent BC produced Okanagan wine.
Day 2 Sonora Resort
A full day to experience the resort’s first class facilities. Maybe take an early morning stroll to the fly fishing ponds or glide across the idyllic Florence Lake in a canoe. For the more adventurous there are an abundance of hiking and biking trails for you to explore the splendid Pacific Rainforest at your own leisurely or pulse-raising pace. Relaxation is equally accessible; enjoy a herbal tea in the grand garden conservatory – this serene setting is a perfect place for the mind to blossom and the body unwind – or book a soothing treatment at the Island Currents Spa.
Day 3 Sonora Resort
Today, why not treat yourself to one of the resort’s optional excursions (bookable and payable in advance). Trek along the river banks with a Homalco First Nation guide in search of grizzly bears (mid Aug - mid Oct) the striking Discovery Islands on a small boat eco adventure tour. There is an abundance of wildlife in this stunning area with opportunities to see bald eagles swooping in on their prey, sea lions basking in the sun or dolphins frolicking in the waves.
Day 4 Sonora Resort to Campbell River
Complete your luxury wilderness experience with one final morning lounging by the pool before you are transferred back to Campbell River, by boat transfer or to Vancouver, by air (additional cost), to continue your Canadian adventure.
