The Tea Horse Road

Day 1  Lijiang                          
Upon arrival transfer to LUX* Tea Horse Road Lijiang.                            

Day 2  Jade Dragon Snow Mountain        
Begin your full day tour with the impressive Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. Take a cable car up the mountain to enjoy the stunning scenery. Visit sleepy Yuhu Village with its typical Naxi architecture (traditional wooden houses with bird-wing roofs) before returning to Lijiang to explore its maze of                          
cobbled streets and colourful markets.      

Day 3  Lijiang                      
Visit the emerald waters of Black Dragon Pool, set within the beautiful Jade Spring Park. Later walk up to Wangulou Pagoda for panoramic views of Lijiang old town.    

Day 4  Tiger Leaping Gorge                
Travel through Yunnan’s beautiful countryside on your way to Benzilan with stops en route at the first bend of the Yangtze River and Tiger Leaping Gorge – one of the most dramatic and deepest gorges in the world. Arrive at LUX* Tea Horse Road Benzilan onthe banks of the Yangtze River.                            

Day 5  Benzilan                  
Today, head out to the Dongzhulin Monastery and later enjoy a moderate 30 minute scenic trek up to the Shusong Nunnery – the only Tibetan Buddhist nunnery in Yunnan province.

Day 6  Benzilan                    
This morning a moderate 3 hour trek through beautiful countryside will lead you to a hilltop Tibetan Village. The afternoon is at leisure to explore the area further.          

Day 7  Shangri-La County      
Discover the spectacular region of ShangriLa, including Songzanlin Monastery and the old town of Zhongdian on your journey back to Lijiang.  

Day 8  Lijiang                      
Transfer to the airport.
