Itinerary

Day 1  Sarajevo
Arrive into this beautiful capital city and spend the afternoon acquainting yourself with the central and pedestrianised area of Bascarsija. A city rich in history, landmarks lie around each corner such as the fateful Latin Bridge where Archduke Franz Ferdinand was shot, thus sparking the First World War, as well as the impressive Bascarsija Mosque, the iconic Sebilj Fountain and a host of museums. Between the cultural sightseeing there is ample opportunity for café hopping as the cobbled streets are lined with cafés as well as local craft shops and bustling markets. Head to the Yellow Fortress in the evening for some breathtaking sunset views.

Day 2  Sarajevo
For your second day, perhaps head slightly out from the city centre. For those keen to see more history, it’s worth making your way to the important Tunnel of Hope- the only connection the residents of Sarajevo had to the outside world during the siege of the city that lasted over three years during the Balkan War. You could also explore the fascinating National Museum which not only holds a rich historical collection but also has beautiful botanical gardens to wander through for some more light-hearted enjoyment. In the afternoon, take the cable car which connects the city with the protected Trebevic Mountains in just ten minutes. Enjoy some stunning views from the top of the city and perhaps take a walk through the beautiful pine forests should you have the time.

Day 3  Sarajevo
Embark on an exciting adventure to the nearby Mostar and Kravice Falls on a full day group tour. You will visit memorable sites in the surrounding area starting with one of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s oldest permanent settlements, Konjic, before going onto the Old City of Mostar, visiting the unique and picturesque Blagaj Tekija monastery and the UNESCO World Heritage site of Pocitelj before finally admiring the majestic and thundering waterfalls of Kravice Falls.

Day 4  Sarajevo
Enjoy one last morning in the city, perhaps with a stroll along the Miljacka River before flying home.
