Croatia's Wonderful Waterfalls and Historic Walls

Day 1  Zagreb  
Fly into Zagreb and pick up your car before making your way into the charming city. Wander the cobblestone streets, to explore the upper and lower towns, from the grand baroque cathedral to the pretty market square. End the day sampling your first taste of delicious Croatian cuisine.  

Day 2  Zagreb to Plitvice Lakes NP  
Leave the city behind and head into the countryside to Plitvice Lakes National Park, one of the country’s most famous natural wonders. Enjoy a relaxed evening at your hotel before tomorrow’s adventure.

Day 3  Plitvice Lakes NP  
Rise early today, and head for the park gates to explore the wonderful scenery of this UNESCO World Heritage Site, with its many lakes and waterfalls linked by wooden boardwalks offering a variety of scenic trails or lake cruises. Soak up the sights of clear turquoise waters and gushing waterfalls as you discover this breathtaking national park.  

Day 4  Plitvice Lakes NP to Zadar  
Drive on to the fascinating city of Zadar, a melting pot of Roman, Venetian and Byzantine history and architecture. Meander through the winding streets and watch the sunset whilst marvelling at the glowing colours of the Monument to the Sun, a unique solar powered dance floor glistening beside the water.  

Day 5  Zadar  
Spend today uncovering the hidden corners of this enigmatic city. Perhaps hop on a local ferry to Dugi Otok Island, home to one of the few white sand beaches in Croatia and enjoy relaxing in the sun or taking a dip in the crystal clear waters of the Adriatic.  

Day 6  Zadar to Split  
Today, make your way south towards city of Split. On the way, visit one of Croatia’s most famous waterfalls at Krka National Park, where you can take a refreshing swim in the natural pool below the falls. Continue on to Split airport to drop off your car before heading to your hotel in the heart of the city for the next couple of nights.

Day 7  Split  
Enjoy a morning wandering the labyrinth of alleyways and the well preserved ruins of Diocletian’s Palace. This afternoon, head out on an included food tour and discover all the wonderful flavours of this region.

Day 8  Fly home
