Highlights of Northern Croatia and Slovenia

Day 1  Zagreb, Croatia    
Fly to Zagreb and make your own way to your hotel, located in the heart of the city. This afternoon, soak up the city’s lively atmosphere.    

Day 2  Zagreb    
Enjoy a relaxed morning before heading out on an included walking tour. Take in the sights and sounds of Croatia’s capital city, learn of its captivating history from your local guide and then ride the city’s historic funicular – the shortest in the world!    

Day 3  Zagreb to Ljubljana, Slovenia    
Pick up your car and drive across the border to Ljubljana. This afternoon, why not hire a bicycle and head to Tivoli Park, the largest park in the city. Explore the landscaped gardens awash with colour, before meandering back to the city centre.    

Day 4  Lake Bled    
This morning, drive north to Lake Bled. Admire the spectacular scenery as you walk around the lake and delight in a slice of the traditional Bled cream cake. Perhaps hop on a boat across to Bled Island and visit the baroque Church of Assumption.  

Day 5 Ljubljana to Porec, Croatia  
Spend the morning exploring Ljubljana Castle. Later drive south, and opt to stop off at Postojna Caves, a breathtaking subterranean kingdom filled with towering stalagmites. Continue to Porec on Istria’s west coast.  

Days 6-7  Porec    
Overlooking the Adriatic, this picturesque Roman town is a maze of cobbled streets and small plazas. Meander down to the pebble beach, visit the neighbouring walled town of Novigrad or head inland to explore the vineyards.      

Day 8  Fly home    
Drive to Pula and drop off the car in time for your flight home.
