Itinerary
Day 1 Helsinki
Fly to Helsinki. Upon arrival, make your way to your hotel. The rest of the day is for you to explore at leisure. Opt to visit the various museums and galleries, sample local cuisine, or relax at a Finnish sauna.
Day 2 Helsinki to Longyearbyen
This morning, transfer to the airport with your group for a private charter flight to Longyearbyen, where you will board Ultramarine. As you set sail, you will catch a glimpse of the island’s glacier-topped mountains rising majestically from the waters.
Days 3-13 Exploring Spitsbergen
Sail around Spitsbergen, exploring the smaller, outlying islands such as Phippsoya, Alkefjellet, and the seldom-visited Kvitoya. Each stop is unique and filled with natural wonders, including the 14th of July Glacier which is home to puffins, purple sandpipers, black-legged kittiwakes, pink-footed geese, and barnacle geese, while Alkefjellet’s cliffs are teeming with nesting Brunnich's guillemots (thick-billed murres). Spot reindeer in Ny-London, Sundneset and Alkhornet, and be on the lookout for elusive polar bears in Phipps Island and Isbukta, home to sea ice.
Day 14 Disembark in Longyearbyen and fly to Helsinki
Your adventure ends in Longyearbyen. From here, transfer to the airport for your return group charter flight to Helsinki, where you will check into your airport hotel.
Day 15 Fly home
