Itinerary
Day 1 Bordeaux
Fly into Bordeaux and transfer to your hotel before heading out to explore. Take a stroll down Rue Sainte-Catherine, Europe’s longest pedestrianised street, and observe the impressive architecture, boutique shops and charming cafés.
Day 2 Bordeaux
Today, perhaps delve into the city’s medieval history at the Aquitaine Museum. Admire the gothic Saint-André Cathedral and for fantastic views of Bordeaux head to the top of the separate bell tower, Tour Pey Berland. Why not take a break from exploring the city to try canelés, a caramelised pastry flavoured with rum and vanilla that the city is famous for. Later, be sure to visit the Place de la Bourse, an impressive neoclassical square exhibiting a reflection pool. In the evening, perhaps wander along the river taking in views of the Pont de Pierre, a historic bridge commissioned by Napolean.
Day 3 Bordeaux
Spend your day sampling Bordeaux’s finest wines. On the right bank of the Dordogne River, vineyards are most known for their plush red blends of Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Enjoy sampling the regions famous wines in a traditional château whilst learning about the process for how these wines are produced from a knowledgeable guide. After, join a guided tour of the lovely medieval village of Saint-Émilion, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. With free time roam the cobbled streets, perhaps grab a delicious lunch, before making your way back to Bordeaux for a leisurely afternoon. Boasting a number of highly regarded, Michelin-starred restaurants, indulge in fine French cuisine for an unforgettable end to your Bordeaux escape.
Day 4 Bordeaux
Enjoy your final morning in this spectacular city before transferring to the airport for your flight home.
