Paris to Venice by Venice Simplon-Orient-Express

Day 1  Paris to Venice      
Board the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express in the late afternoon and settle into your cabin as the lights of Paris leave you behind. Enjoy a delicious four course dinner in one of the three beautifully restored 1920s restaurant cars, afterwards listen to the ivories of the resident pianist as you socialise with other guests.              

Day 2  Venice Simplon-Orient-Express            
As the mountains and countryside of Italy begins to reveal itself in the morning, savour the scenery in the comfort of your cabin. A leisurely lunch will be enjoyed as the train wanders onwards to Venice. All too soon, the time to disembark has arrived and your adventure in Venice begins. Take a private boat transfer to the idyllic Cipriani, A Belmond Hotel, located on Giudecca Island. This iconic hideaway is the perfect place to relax and soak up the unrivalled views of Doge’s Palace and the lagoon.                

Day 3  Venice            
Venice is an incredible city, built on over 100 islands with 409 bridges and 150 canals. Walk the Grand Canal and marvel at the splendour of the monumental buildings from Byzantine, Gothic and Renaissance periods. Sightseeing highlights include the imposing Doge’s Palace, the Basilica of San Marco, the Rialto Bridge and the Piazza San Marco.    

Day 4  Venice              
No visit to Venice would be complete without a cruise through its enchanting canals. Join a small group tour to explore the many waterways in a luxurious motorboat. Get a full overview of this mesmerising city and hear stories from your local guide.        

Day 5  Venice              
Enjoy a final morning wandering this romantic city before your holiday comes to an end.
