Itinerary

Day 1 Fly to Tbilisi    

Day 2 Tbilisi    
Arrive into Tbilisi and transfer to your hotel. Use today to settle in and explore Georgia’s fascinating capital at your own pace.    

Day 3 Tbilisi    
Explore Tbilisi’s captivating streets on a walking tour. Visit the old town, with its unique architectural style, local markets and narrow cobblestone streets. After lunch, walk through Meidan Square and have a chance to see the beautiful Metekhi cliff with its colourful buildings before passing Parliament, Tbilisi Opera and the many galleries.    

Day 4 Tbilisi to Kutaisi    
Set off from Tbilisi to Mtskheta which offers a glimpse into the countries past. You will visit Svetitstkhoveli Cathedral, a masterpiece of medieval architecture where, according to legend, Christ’s robe is buried. Head onwards to Gori to pay a visit to the Joseph Stalin Museum and Uplistsikhe Cave Town-Fortress before reaching Kutaisi.  

Day 5 Kutaisi to Mestia    
Visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site Gelati Monastery, and admire the remarkable, intricate stone carvings, frescoes and mosaics. Later, drive through the scenic Caucasus Mountains to reach Mestia which has medieval villages dating back to the 9th Century.    

Day 6 Mestia    
Venture to Ushguli, a community of five villages where many of the medieval characteristics are still preserved, including over 200 Svan towers. Savour lunch in a local guesthouse before heading back to Mestia for some free time to explore as you wish.    

Day 7 Mestia to Tskaltubo    
This morning, journey to Zugdidi and the Dadiani Palace Museum, now home to an impressive collection of art and historical artifacts. Later, continue to Tskaltubo, a town renowned for its healing mineral waters and spa culture.

Day 8 Tskaltubo to Tbilisi    
Be mesmerised at the Prometheus Caves and marvel at the stalactites, stalagmites and underground waterfalls before driving onwards to Tbilisi and spending the afternoon as you please.    

Day 9 Tbilisi    
Head to Telavi and explore the bazaar where you can sample locally produced artisanal goods. Afterwards, visit Tsinandali and the Manor House Museum, as well as Shumi Winery for a wine tasting.

Day 10 Tbilisi    
Travel to Bodbe to visit the monastery and explore Sighnaghi, a picturesque town overlooking the stunning Alazani Valley. In the afternoon, enjoy a wine tasting and masterclass making traditional Churckhela.    

Day 11 Fly home    

Departs: Private touring is flexible – choose your ideal departure date, Mar - Nov.
