Itinerary
Day 2 Tbilisi
Arrive into Tbilisi and transfer to your hotel, spending the rest of the day at leisure.
Day 3 Tbilisi
Discover Georgia’s ancient capital on a fascinating walking city tour. Wander through the old town and gaze upon the city’s unique architectural style. Pass by renowned sulphur baths, admire the Narikala fortress and visit impressive churches.
Day 4 Tbilisi to Gudauri
Head out of the city along the Georgian Military Highway to the impressive Caucausus Mountains. Visit the dramatically perched Gergeti Trinity Church before arriving in Gudauri.
Day 5 Gudauri to Telavi
Travel to Telavi and explore the traditional bazaar, sampling locally produced goods. Explore the Manor House Museum in Tsinandali before returning to Telavi to discover the towns rich heritage.
Day 6 Telavi to Tbilisi
This morning, visit Alaverdi Cathedral, a stunning medieval building founded in the 11th Century. Later, stop in Kvareli to explore the scenic vineyards and enjoy a wine tasting.
Day 7 Tbilisi to Dilijan, Armenia
After breakfast drive to the border and cross into Armenia before reaching Haghpat Monastery, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Perched on a hillside, it offers magnificent views of the Debed Canyon and is a perfect introduction to Armenia’s cultural and natural beauty. Next, reach Dilijan, a town with lush forests and fresh mountain air.
Day 8 Dilijan to Yerevan
Today explore the crystal clear waters and stunning alpine scenery of Lake Sevan and the Sevan Peninsula, before heading onwards to Armenia’s charming capital, Yerevan. Admire the grand architecture, pass by the Opera and Ballet Theatre and admire the Cascade Complex, an impressive limestone stairway lined with cafés, restaurants and exhibits.
Day 9 Yerevan
Visit Zvartnots Temple, a masterpiece of 7th Century architecture which also boasts breathtaking views of Mount Ararat. Afterwards, visit Ejmiatsin, a UNESCO World Heritage Site where Mother Cathedral of Ejmiatsin stands as one of the world’s oldest Christian cathedrals.
Day 10 Yerevan
Today, visit Khor Virap, a significant pilgrimage site where the monastery sits on a rocky outcrop and offers spectacular views over Mount Ararat. After lunch, have a tour of Noravank, a 13th Century monastery surrounded by towering rock formations.
Day 11 Yerevan to Tbilisi, Georgia
Journey to one of Armenia’s most aweinspiring monasteries, Geghard, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. After, enjoy a lavash baking masterclass with lunch before a visit to the Symphony of Stones, a natural wonder located in the Garni Gorge. Continue towards the border and cross into Georgia and its capital, Tbilisi.
Day 12 Tbilisi
This morning, head to the religious centre, Mtskheta which offers a glimpse into the country’s glorious past. Admire the stunning Svetitskhoveli Cathedral, where according to legend, is where Christ’s robe is buried before wandering the quaint streets and savouring the atmosphere of a bygone era. Head back to Tbilisi for an afternoon at leisure.
Day 13 Fly home
