Day 1 Reykjavik
Arrive into Iceland and pick up your car before driving to the trendy capital of Reykjavik.
Day 2 Reykjavik to Golden Circle
Head inland to the Golden Circle, home to an abundance of geological wonders. For a true Icelandic experience, take a short walk to Reykjadalur Hot Spring Thermal River for a dip in the warm waters.
Day 3 Golden Circle
Spend a full day exploring the Golden Circle at leisure. At Thingvellir National Park see where the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates are slowly pulling apart. Later, witness erupting geysers and steaming vents at the Geysir Geothermal Area, before peering over thundering Gullfoss falls.
Day 4 Golden Circle to Hof
Today a stunning scenic drive awaits. Admire the vertical cliffs that rise up beside the road and stop off at the many dramatic waterfalls that Iceland is known for. In the village of Vik pause for a stroll along the stark volcanic Black Sand Beach.
Day 5 Hof
This unique region is dominated by Vatnajokull, Europe’s largest glacier. Join your guided tour for an unforgettable experience as you get up close to and even walk inside the glacier on a thrilling ice cave tour.
Day 6 Hof to Eastfjords
Continue along the Ring Road to Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon, where huge chunks of ice break away from the glacier and float across the lagoon before resting on the black sand, creating the unique Diamond Beach.
Day 7 Eastfjords to Akureyri
High mountains, rough fjords and quaint fishing villages make for a picturesque landscape as you head north to Akureyri, Iceland’s second largest city and located just below the Arctic Circle.
Days 8-9 Akureyri
Spend two full days exploring the natural gems along the Arctic Coast Way. Join your included Lake Myvatn and Godafoss day tour to discover surreal geological sites and relax in the warm waters of the Myvatn Nature Baths. Maybe cruise out into the Eyajford in search of humpback whales or visit some of the many quaint fishing villages that line the coast.
Day 10 Akureyri to Reykholt
Drive south through rugged countryside to the small village of Reykholt, where significant geothermal activity of the past scars the landscape.
Day 11 Reykholt
Today, perhaps head underground and learn more about the volcanic activity that formed this incredible country with a tour through the lava tubes at Vidgelmir cave.
Day 12 Reykholt to Reykjavik
Complete your circumnavigation of Iceland with a final scenic drive back to Reykjavik.
Day 13 Reykjavik
After an action packed week, unwind in the iconic Blue Lagoon before dropping off your car at the airport and taking your flight home.
