Northern Iceland Winter Escape

Day 1  Akureyri  
Fly to Akureyri. On arrival, make your way to your hotel. Once you have checked in, head out to explore this charming city located at the base of a fjord on Iceland’s stunning northern coast.  

Day 2  Northern Lights  
Spend today at leisure and explore the surrounding area. Perhaps join a whale watching tour, hike one of the many picturesque trails or visit the botanical gardens. Tuck in for an early dinner at one of the cosy pubs before embarking on an amazing trip in search of the Northern Lights. Savour the remote countryside and if you’re lucky watch the lights dance across the sky.  

Day 3  Godafoss Falls & Lake Myvatn  
Today join a tour to discover some of the beautiful natural wonders of the north. For your first stop visit the impressive Godafoss Falls, one of the most spectacular waterfalls in Iceland. Travel across to Lake Myvatn, passing outstanding wonders including Dimmuborgir Lava formations, Hverir mud pools, Grotcaja cave and some of the filming locations for Game of Thrones. Upon arrival at Lake Myvatn perhaps enjoy a scenic soak in the Myvatn Natural Baths and admire the vast views of the rugged surroundings. Return to your hotel and settle down for the evening.  

Day 4  Fly home
