Day 1 Reykjavik
Welcome to trendy Reykjavik! The most northerly capital in the world might be small, but it’s vibrant and trendy culture more than makes up for it. Settle into the Apotek Hotel by Keahotels, your home for the next three days. Make sure to dine at the hotel’s restaurant, a well-known eatery in the city, offering a delicious mix of Icelandic and European cuisine in a stylish setting.
Days 2-3 Reykjavik
Get ready for an action packed couple of days. Join a guided group tour to discover the incredible Golden Circle, before a thrilling off-road drive takes you across a mighty glacier. On day three, tick off a true bucket list experience, snowmobiling. Travel north with your guide and small group to the Langjokull glacier, before getting kitted out to discover this shinning, frozen land.
Day 4 Reykjavik to Kalfafell
Rise early and pick up your car before driving along the south coast, arguably Iceland’s most scenic drive. Spectacular waterfalls and hiking trails can easily be accessed, so leave plenty of time to stop en route. Later, arrive at the Fosshotel Glacier Lagoon. This design led hotel offers a cosy retreat with stunning views across the rugged landscape.
Day 5 Kalfafell
After a leisurely breakfast, drive further along the Ring Road to the Jokulsarlon glacier lagoon. Set at the foot of an awe-inspiring glacier, huge pieces of ice continuously carve off and float in the icy waters of the lagoon and out into the Atlantic Ocean. At the nearby black sand beach you’ll find thousands of chunks of ice which have been washed ashore, leaving a unique and unforgettable view.
Day 6 Kalfafell to Grindavik
Set off early on your drive back towards Reykjavik to one of the most luxurious hotels in Iceland, The Retreat at the Blue Lagoon. Newly opened in 2018 this allsuite hotel sits on its own private lagoon, offering a secluded experience. Spend time relaxing in the lagoon, experiencing The Blue Lagoon Ritual and perhaps join a yoga class or short hike. Calming views over the milky blue waters and moss covered lava fields can be enjoyed from all the suites, while pre-booking into the hotels much sought after Moss Restaurant is highly recommended.
Day 7 Grindavik
Enjoy a final relaxing dip in the hotels lagoon before taking the short drive back to the airport, before dropping off your car and taking your onward flight.
