Day 1  Rome
Fly to Italy’s dynamic capital and transfer to your hotel. Enjoy the rest of the day at leisure, soaking up the wonderful atmosphere.

Days 2-3  Rome
Spend the next two days discovering the sights of Rome using your included Hop-on Hop-off bus ticket, allowing you to get between the major spots with ease. Visit the ever popular Colosseum, Roman Forum and Palatine Hill on your included tour whilst your guide tells epic tales of ancient Rome, from gladiator games to imperial politics. Spend the rest of your time at leisure admiring more of Rome’s many landmarks, from the Trevi Fountain to the Pantheon, or by ambling through the city’s maze of back streets.

Day 4  Cruise embarkation
Transfer to Civitavecchia port to board your Star Clippers cruise.

Day 5  Relaxing at sea

Day 6  Lipari
Cruise through the scenic Aeolian archipelago, a collection of seven islands of volcanic origin. The main island is Lipari, home to a bustling marina and magnificent Acropolis.

Day 7  Messina
Gateway to the island of Sicily, Messina was a major transport hub for centuries and is home to one of Sicily’s finest cathedrals. Make sure to try the lemon granita (shaved ice) or the granita al caffé con panna, a half glass of coffee-flavoured granita and cream.

Day 8  Amalfi
Once a powerful maritime republic, this picturesque town along the famed Amalfi Coast is now known for its dramatic cliffs, pretty coves and its spectacular Duomo.

Day 9  Sorrento
Beautifully positioned overlooking the Bay of Naples, this cliffside town is an impressive sight. Home to colourful citrus groves, a charming historic centre and sweeping vistas.

Day 10  Ponza
See the delightful small town of Ponza come into view with its distinct pastel houses lined in neat rows. Nestled within the Pontine Islands, its harbour sees sleek yachts and ramshackle fishing boats moor side by side.

Day 11  Disembark in Civitavecchia, transfer to Rome and fly home
