Itinerary
Day 1 Bologna
Fly to Bologna and transfer to your hotel. Discover a city filled with fascinating history, pretty terracotta buildings and delectable Italian cuisine. Renowned as Italy’s capital for gastronomy, today the city harmoniously blends traditional recipes and innovative street food. This evening, find yourself in the bustling central square, Piazza Maggiore to soak up the atmosphere and admire the palaces and Fountain of Neptune.
Day 2 Bologna
Spend the day navigating the distinct districts, brimming with authenticity and wandering down the colourful streets of Quadrilatero, the historic heart of the city, filled with markets selling delicious street food and handicrafts. Admire Le Due Torri (the two towers), a prominent symbol in the middle of the city and visit a friendly trattoria, a slightly informal family run restaurant, for homemade delicacies. If you still have time, the city boasts a large number of fascinating museums as well as the oldest university in Europe. Later, perhaps cool off with a gelato; after all, Bologna is home to the leading university for gelato training.
Day 3 Bologna
Today, be sure to check out the UNESCO World Heritage listed Porticoes of Bologna, the beautiful arches which line the city streets. On your included street food tour, sample delicious meats, fresh pasta and local cheeses as well as regional wines. Spend your final evening sipping an Aperol Spritz in Piazza Maggiore, the beating heart of the city.
