Itinerary
Fly to Pisa, the iconic Leaning Tower. Spend the day wandering the city, uncovering its gothic architecture, Renaissance piazzas and delicious Italian delicacies.
Days 2-4 Monterosso
Board your train to Monterosso, the largest and most northerly of the five villages that make up Cinque Terre. Spend the next few days exploring the beautiful surroundings. Relax on the sandy beach in Monterosso, watch the boats bob in the harbour in picturesque Vernazza, enjoy stunning panoramic views in Corniglia, admire the famous multicoloured houses in Manarola and relax on the rocks in Riomaggiore as the sun sets into the Ligurian sea.
Days 5-6 Portofino Coast
Arrive into Rapallo, your base for discovering the Italian Riviera, and perhaps take a stroll on the palm tree-lined seafront promenade. Spend the next two days navigating the scenic coast, down to Santa Margherita, Paraggi and Portofino, famed for the glamorous yachts found floating in the harbours. Enjoy an eclectic mix of charming restaurants, cobbled streets, historic buildings and artisan shops. For the adventurous, perhaps enjoy a scenic hike from Rapallo to Portofino with the enticing reward of a dip in the waters of San Fruttuoso beach before taking a ferry back to Rapallo.
Day 7 Milan
Bid farewell to the coast and journey onwards to your final stop, Milan. Italy’s fashion capital is a cosmopolitan city comprising of vastly different neighbourhoods, unique architecture and delectable cuisine. Marvel at Leonardo da Vinci’s world-famous ‘The Last Supper’, delve into history and architecture at Sforza Castle and wander the cobbled streets of the ‘Golden Triangle’ home to a host of iconic luxury stores.
