Itinerary

Day 1  Venice        
Arrive into this iconic city, framed by towering palaces and connected by blue waterways, it’s a perfect starting point to discover Italy’s cities. After settling into your hotel, wander along the canals, visiting the buzzing Rialto Market and watching a beautiful sunset over the famous Rialto Bridge.        

Days 2-3  Venice  
On your first full day, enjoy a comprehensive day tour soaking up all the major highlights. Walk through colourful neighbourhoods, marvel at the views from the terrace from St Marks Basilica and skip the queues at Doge’s Palace before embarking on an iconic gondola ride along the Grand Canal. Spend your next full day in Venice at leisure, perhaps simply shopping and café hopping, or taking a boat trip over to the famous island of Murano, known for their colourful buildings and intricate glassmaking.        

Days 4-5  Venice to Verona  
Board the train to enchanting Verona, famed for its association with Romeo and Juliet, it holds a magical feeling, with beautiful, cobbled streets, hidden gardens, and impressive cultural heritage. Visit the imposing ancient Roman amphitheatre, the famous Casa di Giulietta and the intricate Basilica di San Zeno Maggiore to name but a few iconic landmarks. All the while enjoying the romantic atmosphere of this peaceful city, delighting in delicious food along one of the many restaurants lining the bustling Piazza Bra.        

Days 6-7  Verona to Milan    
After a scenic train journey, arrive into Italy’s fashion capital, Milan. Discover the breathtaking architecture and culture of this lively city, far beyond the shopping for which it is famed. Encounter Milan’s most significant historical landmarks through a guided walking tour, starting with viewing Leonardo da Vinci’s world-famous masterpiece ‘The Last Supper’, before delving into Milan’s medieval history at Sforza Castle. Continue by walking through Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, brimming with designer shops before finishing with the spectacular Duomo, admiring its ornate, Gothic architecture. Spend your second day, at your own pace, perhaps wandering the cobbled streets of the ‘Golden Triangle’ or visiting one of the many museums and galleries, boasting some of the world’s greatest artists.        

Days 8-9  Milan to Bologna  
Make your way to the charming city of Bologna, famed for its delicious gastronomy. Delight in a small-group food walking tour, wandering the medieval squares, passing pretty terracotta buildings whilst stopping along the way to savour a variety of local specialties and hearing fascinating stories and legends of Bologna’s past from a local. Be sure to check out the Porticoes of Bologna, a UNESCO World Heritage site, where beautiful arches line the city streets and canvas the historic centre. Spend a final evening in the bustling Piazza Maggiore Square, savouring delicious food and wine in a wonderful atmosphere.        

Days 10-12  Bologna to Florence          
Enjoy your final high-speed train to the beautiful city of Florence where you will be for the next three days. For a magical first evening walk up to Piazzale Michelangelo and marvel at the incredible panoramic views over the city as the sun sets. On your first full day, make use of your Florence Duomo skip the line tour and hear of the buildings fascinating history before witnessing incredible views over this world-famous skyline. Make sure to visit the Pitti Palace, the main residence of the famous Medici family, housing several galleries and museums, set within the beautiful ground of the Boboli Gardens. Spend the rest of your time at leisure, enjoying strolls along the Arno River, visiting bustling squares, and admiring breathtaking artwork.      

Day 13  Florence        
Enjoy a final morning stroll, before making your own way to the airport for your flight home.
