Coastal Charms of Italy with La Dolce Vita Orient Express

Day 1  Rome                    
Arrive into beautiful Rome and enjoy a private transfer to your hotel. Known as one of the world’s most inspiring and romantic cities, start your trip off with a wander through Rome’s picturesque streets, passing by vibrant boutiques, quaint cafés and bustling piazzas.

Day 2  Rome                
Make a visit to, arguably, the most iconic Roman landmark – the Colosseum. With your included ticket, skip the line to spend more time exploring and less time queuing. Your guide’s storytelling will bring this iconic landmark to life and give you further insight into ancient Rome. Continue the tour with a visit to Palatine Hill and the Roman Forum. Afterwards, enjoy a delectable pasta dish at one of many inviting trattorias, before spending the rest of the day at leisure.  

Day 3  Rome            
Start the day with an early morning tour of the many halls and galleries of the Vatican Museums. Afterwards, your guide will lead you into the Sistine Chapel where you can admire renowned murals by Michelangelo, followed by a visit to St Peter’s Basilica, bypassing long lines of spectators to admire the magnificent church. In the evening, dine alfresco, indulging in a delicious meal at a local pizzeria.

Day 4  La Dolce Vita Orient Express            
Board La Dolce Vita Orient Express in the late morning, and enjoy a sumptuous lunch in the Restaurant Car, incorporating fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Arrive into Venice at dusk, where you may join an optional guided tour of Venetian Palace, which includes a private dinner in an ancient Palazzo, featuring a delightful live performance.  

Day 5  La Dolce Vita Orient Express
Start your day with a lavish breakfast spread on board the train before it arrives into Santa Margherita Ligure, a splendid seaside town on the Italian Riviera. After transferring to Portofino, spend the afternoon exploring the gorgeous piazza, waterfront promenade and checking out the local boutiques and cafés. Back on board, in the evening, enjoy an exquisite meal, accompanied by live music.    

Day 6  La Dolce Vita Orient Express    
Enjoy a final, sumptuous Italian breakfast on board, before disembarking in Rome, to enjoy a peaceful evening of relaxation, accompanied by a glass of rich regional wine.  

Day 7  Amalfi Coast            
After a leisurely breakfast, board the high-speed frecciarossa train to Naples, where you will be met by a private transfer taking you to your spectacular Amalfi Coast hotel – the Hotel Miramalfi.

Day 8-10  Amalfi Coast  
Spend the next few days taking in the breathtaking vistas from this splendid cliffside property, featuring private sea access and a saltwater pool. Dine at the elegant and stylish on-site restaurant offering mouth-watering, authentic Italian cuisine and featuring panoramic views to die for. Sip refreshing cocktails and champagne in the elegant bar and sunbathe on the delightful terrace. Day 11  Amalfi Coast                  
Snap your last photos of the scenery and savour a final Italian cappuccino before collecting your private transfer to Naples airport, to make your onwards flight.
