Itinerary:

Day 1  Fly to Catania
Today you will fly to Catania where you will meet your fellow travellers for a drink and dinner this evening.

Day 2  Taormina
Travel to Taormina which is perched on a cliff top overlooking a beautiful sea bays. Spend some time exploring the town, before the option to join an excursion to Europe’s tallest active volcano, Mount Etna.

Day 3  Syracuse
Explore historic Syracuse, once home to Archimedes and the largest city in the ancient world. Visit ancient Greek ruins as well as the old town of Ortigia, to see the magnificent theatre carved into the hiffside.

Day 4  Piazza Armerina
Visit the fascinating Villa del Casale, a Roman villa built in the 4th Century and now a UNESCO World Heritage Site.  

Day 5  Palermo
Spend the day in Sicily’s vibrant capital, Palermo. Admire the different styles of architecture which range from Arabic to Art Nouveau, browse the bustling markets and perhaps explore the Capella Palatine chapel. Overlooking the city, is the beautiful Monreale Cathedral which houses exquisite golden paintings.      

Day 6  Campofelice di Roccella
Today is free to spend as you wish. Perhaps join an optional excursion to the ancient Greek town of Agrigento or visit the Valley of the Temples to see the Temple of Concord and the Temple of Zeus, the largest temple built by the ancient Greeks.    

Day 7  Cefalu
Visit the pretty fishing port of Cefalu, set on a rocky headland and home to some beautiful sandy beaches. Overlooking this popular seaside town is one of Sicily’s finest Norman cathedrals, also home to some of the island’s earliest Byzantine mosaics. This evening, join your fellow travellers for a farewell dinner.  

Day 8  Fly to the UK
Your tour comes to an end this morning with a transfer to Catania for your flight home with your fellow travellers.
