Itinerary
Arrive into the wondrous city of Florence and take a private transfer to your city-centre hotel. Once settled in, enjoy your first venture into the city, down glorious, cobbled alleyways and cap off your first day with a dish of authentic Italian pasta.
Day 2 Florence
After sipping a traditional espresso, begin your day with a visit to the symbol of Florence – the iconic Duomo, a striking architectural feat. Skip the queues with your included ticket and ascend the 463 steps for commanding city views. Afterwards, be astounded by the beauty of Italian Renaissance art with a visit to the Uffizi Gallery.
Day 3 Florence
Spend the morning with a visit to the Accademia Gallery, famous for housing Michaelangelo’s legendary ‘David’ statue. Afterwards, stop by the Ponte Vecchio for a brilliant photo opportunity and a charming walk along the Arno River to absorb the atmosphere. In the afternoon, become a master of Italian cooking with a course teaching you the art of Italian pizza and gelato-making – be rewarded by tasting your creations!
Day 4 Bologna
Start today with a scenic rail journey to Bologna, arguable Italy’s capital of gastronomy. As such, it makes sense to begin your stay in this splendid city with a marvellous street food tour, included in your package. Wander the medieval squares, past pretty terracotta buildings, stopping along the way to taste a variety of local specialties, such as tortellini, ragù, Parmigiano Reggiano and regional wine.
Day 5 Bologna
After a leisurely start to the day, take a stroll through the city, taking in its mesmerising architecture, including streets lined with grand porticoes, terracotta-hued medieval buildings and cloister-wrapped piazzas. If you are feeling active, perhaps enjoy a hike up to the Sanctuary of San Luca, through the longest stretch of porticoes in the world. Alternatively, catch the bus up to the hill-top perched church, offering panoramic views across Tuscany’s rolling hills.
Day 6 Bologna
Start today with a visit to the Seven Churches and Basilica of Santo Stefano, a beautiful complex comprising four interconnected religious buildings overlooking a delightful piazza. Enjoy a tasty panini in the square, accompanied by a glass of traditional Aperol Spritz. Afterwards, discover the fascinating Anatomical Theatre of Bologna – an impressive hall displaying the first medical school of the oldest university in the Western World.
Day 7 Bologna
Start today with a thrilling climb to the top of the Asinelli Tower, which opens out onto stunning views of Bologna’s rooftops, piazzas and architecture for a final view of this remarkable medieval city and some epic photos. Afterwards, transfer to Bologna airport, to make your onwards flight.
