Gladiators & Gelato

Day 1  Rome    
Fly to Rome this morning and arrive in this beautiful city just in time for lunch. This afternoon is yours to spend at leisure, relax into la dolce vita lifestyle, roam the picturesque streets and perhaps enjoy some authentic Italian gelato.    

Day 2  Rome    
Enjoy the next couple of days immersing yourselves in the heart of the ancient Roman Empire. Join a small group tour of the impressive Colosseum and Roman Forum with an entertaining and educational guide. Walk in the footsteps of the mighty gladiators as you learn of the area’s fascinating history in a fun and exciting way.    

Day 3  Rome    
Why not visit the old baths of Caracalla, where a virtual reality tour will take you back to how life once was almost 2,000 years ago? Tonight, visit the colourful, cobbled streets of Trastevere for a delicious Italian pizza or pasta at one of the local restaurants.    

Day 4  Rome to Amalfi Coast    
This morning, pick up your car and head south to the glorious coastline of the Sorrento Peninsula. Settle into your private villa and perhaps take a refreshing plunge in the pool before lighting up the barbecue for a tasty evening meal as you look forward to a relaxing week of quality family time.    

Days 5-7  Amalfi Coast  
With your own car, enjoy the flexibility to explore the beautiful Sorrento peninsula at your own pace. Set aside a day to discover the ancient Roman city of Pompeii, almost unchanged since it was buried by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius. If you’re feeling active, perhaps hike to the summit of the sleeping volcano itself and peer into the rocky crater.    

Days 8-10  Amalfi Coast    
In between relaxing beside your private pool, perhaps catch a ferry to the idyllic island of Capri, known for its glistening water and famed Blue Grotto cave. You can also take a chair lift ride from Anacapri to the summit of Monte Solaro for panoramic views of the entire island.

Day 11  Fly home    
Drive to Naples airport and drop off your car in time for your flight home.
