Itinerary

Day 1  Lecce
Fly to Brindisi airport and make your way to Brindisi rail station to board your train to the city of Lecce, known as the ‘Florence of the South’ owing to its rich history and cultural heritage.

Day 2  Lecce
Begin your adventure with a Lecce walking tour, the perfect introduction to Puglia. Discover its astounding baroque architecture and incredible Roman sites, before heading to the impressive Basilica di Santa Croce. In the evening, why not head out for a traditional Italian aperitivo?

Day 3  Lecce
Set off on your included tour to visit the fairytale-like city of Alberobello, home to the remarkable trulli dry-stone houses with distinctive conical roofs. Afterwards, visit the wonderful town of Locorotondo, known for its wine and gastronomy. The tour makes its last stop in the white city of Ostuni, filled with magical alleyways and history just waiting to be explored, before transferring back to Lecce.

Day 4  Lecce to Ostuni
Take the train to Ostuni, where you will stay for the next couple of nights. Later, perhaps head to the Corso Vittorio Emanuele II viewpoint and enjoy an incredible panorama of the city – the perfect spot to watch the sun set.

Day 5  Ostuni
Witness the beauty of Ostuni’s hilltop old town, being sure to take a photo of the famous blue and green coloured door before admiring the Church of St Francis of Assisi, featuring ornately carved doors. Afterwards, relax and spend the afternoon at one of the nearby beaches, such as Lido Morelli and Pilone, famous for their fine white sand and clear, turquoise waters.

Day 6  Ostuni to Monopoli
Take the train to splendid Monopoli, a delightful seaside village, famous for its charming maritime culture and golden sandy beaches. Why not enjoy a seafront hike along the Lungomare promenade, leading to the impressive Castello Carlo V that overlooks the sparkling Adriatic Sea.

Days 7-8  Monopoli
Enjoy the next couple of days in this calm coastal town. Perhaps spend time relaxing on the lovely beach, soaking up the Mediterranean sun, or savouring some sumptuous local cuisine.

Day 9  Polignano a Mare
Take a short train ride up the coast to Polignano a Mare, famous for its dazzling waterfront, beaches, and cliff-sided coves. Perhaps opt for a boat ride, gliding through the crystal clear waters, or for a hike along the clifftops to take in the sweeping views of the charming old town and sea. Later, head back to Monopoli for your final evening.

Day 10  Fly home
Return by rail to Bari in time for your flight home.
