Italy's Amalfi Coast and Sicily by Rail

Days 1-7  Amalfi Coast    
Fly to Naples and transfer to your hotel. As well as a prime destination for well-earned rest and relaxation, the Amalfi Coast has some magnificent cliff-carved hiking routes, featuring sea views to die for and bright flora-draped walkways. A particularly famous route, Path of the Gods, is a mustdo for hiking enthusiasts, spanning seven kilometres of moderate intensity trails connecting a couple of charming villages.  In your down time, dive into the sparkling Tyrrhenian Sea or dine on wood-fired pizza.      

Day 8  Amalfi Coast to Taormina      
Today, settle in for a scenic journey down the Mediterranean coastline of Italy. Enjoy the unique experience of your train boarding the ferry, that transfers across to Sicily. Arrive into Taormina in the evening and transfer to your marvellous coastal base for the next week.

Days 9-14  Taormina      
Spend this week exploring the wonderful, historic city of Taormina as well as making the most of the area’s stunning beaches. Visit the incredible ancient Greek amphitheatre, which offers panoramic views over the Gulf of Naxos. Stroll the streets of the historic centre, discover the Corso Umberto, filled with quaint and charming boutiques and stumble upon the beautiful churches of Taormina, filled with resplendent artwork. Afterwards, embrace la dolce vita lifestyle, lazing on dazzling beaches or taking picturesque boat trips. While here, enjoy included excursions to Mount Etna, for an informative guided half day trek, in addition to a mouth-watering Sicilian pizza making class.      

Day 15  Transfer to Catania and  fly home
