Itinerary
After landing at Olbia airport, pick up your car hire and drive to your hotel where you will be based for the week. Perhaps spend your first day enjoying the wonderful seaside town of Porto Cervo. The centre of the Emerald Coast, frequented by billionaires and celebrities, Porto Cervo certainly holds a distinct glamour with its upscale shops and stunning beaches. Some its most beautiful beaches include Spiaggia del Principe, Capriccioli beach, and Liscia Ruja. Come the evening, you could unwind at your hotel, or if you prefer, take to the vibrant nightlife of Porto Cervo for which it is known.
Day 2 Sardinia’s Emerald Coast
A day at the beach is a welcome respite, perhaps try some of the beaches in the Porto Cervo area, or if you wish to explore further, visit other celebrated locations such as Grande Pervero or Liscia di Vacce. Grande Pevero is often considered one of the most glamorous and exclusive beaches in the world with a crescent stretch of striking white sand against turquoise waters with views looking out to the luxurious yachts that have harboured in. In contrast, the cosy beach of Liscia di Vacce is one of the smallest beaches of the Emerald Coast, offering breathtaking views of the Maddalena Archipelago, Isola Capuccini, and Capo Ferro.
Day 3 Maddaleno Archipelago
Today, perhaps take a thrilling boat trip to the incredible natural wonder of the La Maddalena archipelago. A peaceful oasis of glistening turquoise lagoons, deserted islands and breathtaking beaches. Hop on and off your boat as you are taken to the beautiful inlets of this unspoiled national park.
Day 4 Capo Figaro Nature Park
The Emerald Coast is not just about its dreamy beaches and glistening waters, it is also a haven for hiking enthusiasts with picturesque trails through Mediterranean shrub, ancient archaeological sites and panoramic sea views. Perhaps try the scenic trail at the Capo Figaro Natural Reserve, taking you along a beautiful coastal path from the small inlet of Cala Moresca to the Capo Figari lighthouse whilst boasting incredible views of the Gulf of Olbia and Tavolara island.
Day 5 Arzachena
Today, visit the quaint market town of Arzachena and wander along its charming narrow streets to see ancient churches and local markets. At its heart is the Piazza Risorgimento, a pretty cobblestone square with several boutiques and cafés. A particularly interesting attraction whilst in the area, just a 5 minute drive away, is the Nuraghe Albucciu archaeological site that preserves the remains of a millennia-old Nuragic village. Or, similarly, about a 10 minute drive from the centre is the Li Muri Necropolis, housing the impressive Li Lolghi Giant’s tomb along with a set of Neolithic graves dating back to around 3000 B.C.
Day 6 Sardinia’s Emerald Coast
After your more active days, perhaps spend a day unwinding on the beach under the glorious sun. Explore further down the coast, visiting the mesmerising beaches of Romazzino and Liscia Ruja. Romazzino, a rare beauty, is characterised by its long stretch of white sand slightly tinted with pink hues against crystal clear waters. Liscia Ruja, considered one of the most beautiful of the Emerald Coast is also one of the longest with fine golden sand and breathtaking sea views.
Day 7 Sardinia’s Emerald Coast
Perhaps enjoy one last swim or walk along the promenade before returning your car and catching your flight home.
