Itinerary
Arrive into Verona, a beautiful city in Italy’s Veneto region, often described as the city of love, thanks to its association with Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet. Settle into your city centre hotel before enjoying a delicious pizza in one of the charming nearby restaurants.
Day 2 Verona
After a leisurely start to your day, explore the UNESCO World Heritage listed city, starting off at the impressive Roman amphitheatre, overlooking Piazza Bra, which dates to the 1st Century and is the third largest in the world. Put yourself in the shoes of a Roman-era spectator and gain an awesome perspective by climbing up the tiered seating areas of the arena. Later, admire the balcony and statue of Juliet at the gothic ‘Casa di Giulietta’ - said to have inspired Shakespeare.
Day 3 Verona to Lake Garda
Arrive into Lake Garda after a scenic train journey through Italy’s lake region. Relax on the shores of the lake and admire the scenery before a relaxing dinner.
Days 4-5 Lake Garda
Today, make the most of the historic charms of the ancient villages surrounding the lake. Perhaps, visit the village of Sirmione, which is renowned for its magnificent and imposing Scaligero Castle, one of the best-preserved medieval castles in Italy. Continue onto enchanting Limone sul Garda, recognised for its centuries-old, terraced lemon houses, carved out of rocky mountain slopes. If seeking the best views of Lake Garda, why not ride the phenomenal Malcesine Monte Baldo Cable Car in the afternoon, transporting you above the beautiful valley below and delivering you to a stunning mountain-top, where you can enjoy a walk followed by picnic with a view? While staying in Lake Garda, try out a wide variety of seasonal outdoor activities including hiking, cycling and kayaking - all terrific ways to make the most of the dazzling scenery.
Day 6 Lake Garda to Venice
Enjoy the picturesque train journey to Venice before taking a private water taxi to your hotel. Later savour an alfresco dinner at one of the charming seafood restaurants in St Mark’s Square. Watch the sun set over the waterfront before meandering through Venice’s enchanting myriad of narrow alleyways to your centrally located hotel.
Day 7 Venice
Take a trip to the most iconic Venice landmarks with your included day tour, featuring skip the line admission at popular sites. Start at the impressive St Mark’s Basilica, followed by the Gothic-styled Doges Palace, once the seat of the Venetian government and complete a marvellous day by taking in the beauty of Venice from your iconic gondola ride along the Grand Canal.
Day 8 Venice
