Malta Uncovered

Day 1  Malta    
Fly into Malta and transfer to your hotel located in the idyllic village of Mellieha, perched on a terraced hillside.      

Day 2  Valletta      
Today, visit the wonderful 16th Century city of Valletta and learn more about the dramatic story of the island’s 7,000 year history as you head out on a guided walking tour. This afternoon, perhaps visit the archaeological museum, the Grand Masters Palace or continue exploring Valletta at your leisure.      

Day 3  Gozo      
Today, take the ferry over to the peaceful island of Gozo and visit its capital, Victoria. This charming medieval town has twisting streets and alleyways as well as an imposing Citadel, visible from most of the island. Enjoy the scenic drive to Dwejra Bay situated on the coast, where you’ll see the dramatic coastal formations before later visiting the largest and best preserved of the island’s prehistoric temple sites, Ggantija.      

Day 4  Malta      
Enjoy a day at leisure today. Perhaps visit St Julian’s, and wander its picturesque waterfront promenade, dotted with lots of fantastic restaurants serving local Maltese cuisine.

Day 5  Rabat & Mdina      
This morning, take the short drive to Rabat and walk through the beautiful medieval streets to St Paul’s Catacombs. Afterwards, visit the Wignacourt Museum, a must for art and history lovers, before travelling through an underground passage to St Paul’s Grotto. Later, head to nearby Mdina, perched high up on a hill and surrounded by stone walls to visit the intriguing Church of Mosta.  

Day 6  Malta      
Enjoy a leisurely morning before an introduction to Maltese wine this afternoon. Visit a prestigious wine estate near Mdina, tour the vineyards and sample some of their superb wines.    

Day 7  Blue Grotto      
Today, drive to the southern coast to see the mesmerising waters of the Blue Grotto. Continue on, visit the ruined limestone temples of Hagar Qim, before visiting the pretty waterside village of Marsaxlokk for a lunch. Later, visit Vittoriosa and enjoy a walking tour of this old fortified city.    

Day 8  Fly home      
Transfer to Malta airport for your flight home.
