Itinerary
Day 1 Faro
Fly to Faro. Upon arrival, pick up a car and make your way to your hotel, your base for the next seven nights. Boasting a wealth of facilities, allow yourself to truly relax and enjoy some of the 3,000 hours of sunshine the Algarve region receives each year.
Days 2-7 The Algarve
Having spent a few days relaxing at the hotel, why not venture out to explore more of this stunning region? The Algarve has over 125 miles of coastline – from stunning golden sandy beaches and hidden coves to dramatic cliffs and rock formations waiting to be discovered. Head west to Cabo de San Vicente, the most southwestern point of mainland Europe and take a walk to the stunning lighthouse to admire the incredible ocean and cliff views. En route, call in to nearby Lagos, widely considered to be the prettiest town in the Algarve. One of the best ways to truly take in the Algarve’s craggy cliffs and breathtaking grottoes is from the water, so why not take to the Atlantic Ocean on a boat tour to see the golden rock formations at Ponte da Piedade, or the mesmerising Benagil Cave near Carvoeiro? You may even be lucky enough to see the dolphins that call these waters home. Away from the beaches, the Algarve has plenty to discover: from Tavira’s traditional architecture to the dramatic red sandstone castle at Silves, the former capital of the Arab Kingdom, nestled in the foothills of the Monchique mountains. Journey through the rural interior to discover cork tree lined hills, olive groves, quaint whitewashed villages, and wonderful walks. Wildlife lovers should be sure to visit the tidal flats and marshes of Ria Formosa Natural Park, home to a rich variety of birdlife, including resident flamingos. It is also possible to snorkel with seahorses in this area.
Day 8 Fly home
After a final morning of exploration return your car to Faro airport and catch your flight home.
