Itinerary
Fly to the beautiful city of Madrid and make your way to your hotel before heading off to Puerta del Sol, the city’s iconic centre and a perfect introduction to the charming capital.
Day 2 Madrid
Today take to the streets of Madrid and explore the wonderful architecture, stunning Royal Palace and exquisite Prado Museum. From here, why not wander through the relaxing gardens of Retiro Park or watch the world go by from one of the pretty cafes lining the historic square of Plaza Mayor.
Day 3 Madrid
Continue exploring Madrid’s traditions and culture in the Reina Sofia Museum or the eclectic Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum. Alternatively, amble along the city’s beautiful streets to find boutique shops and artisanal markets.
Day 4 Madrid to Barcelona
Board your train and travel through the Spanish countryside to the spectacular coastal city of Barcelona. Start exploring straight away with your included Barcelona Card granting you free entry to some of the city’s best museums, iconic galleries and local transport.
Day 5 Barcelona
Enjoy a full day of sightseeing through the beautiful streets of the city. Take the open top bus for panoramic views of Barcelona’s decorative architecture. In the evening seek out a local tapas bar and sample a variety of delicious dishes.
Day 6 Barcelona
Continue your exploration of vibrant Barcelona today with a trip out to Gaudi’s Park Guell. This fascinating collection of sculptures and mosaics is surrounded by verdant greenery. In the afternoon, perhaps take a quiet stroll along the sandy shoreline of the Barceloneta beach for wonderful views and fresh sea air.
Day 7 Barcelona to Girona
Take the train through the Catalan countryside to the picturesque city of Girona, a medieval mix of museums, galleries and churches. Wander the city’s cobbled streets and explore the impressive cathedral, made famous by an appearance in the TV series Game of Thrones.
Day 8 Girona
This morning perhaps take a short 30 minute train ride to the small town of Figueres. This charming town is home to the incredible Teatre-Museu Dali, where the final resting place of this surrealist master is marked by a museum dedicated to his work.
Day 9 Girona
Enjoy a final breakfast and maybe some souvenir shopping down the narrow alleyways before taking the train back to Barcelona for your flight home.
