Magical Mountains of Lake Lucerne

Day 1  Zurich to Lucerne      
Arrive into Zurich and board your train which will take you to beautiful Lucerne in a little over an hour. After checking in to your hotel, make your way to the waterfront and the city’s most famous landmark, the Chapel Bridge. As you continue to explore the streets, galleries and museums of the charming old town, be sure to look out for over 200 ornate façade paintings that tell stories of magic, tradition and mythology.      

Day 2  Mount Rigi      
With your included Swiss Travel pass, travel to beautiful Mount Rigi, the “Queen of the Mountains”. From Arth-Goldau station, board the historic Rigi Railway cogwheel train to Rigi Kulm where you can take in the incredible views of the surrounding lakes and snow-capped mountain peaks. On the way down treat yourself to a unique Alpine experience at the spectacular modern Mineral Baths & Spa in Rigi Kaltbad, which celebrates the bathing culture that has been drawing visitors to the mountain since the 16^th Century. Renewed and refreshed, continue your journey from Rigi Kaltbad by cable car to the lakeside town of Weggis and board a boat for a lake cruise back to Lucerne.

Day 3  Mount Pilatus      
Today pay a visit to Mount Pilatus, the legendary home of dragons. Enjoy discounted rates with your included Swiss Travel Pass on the panoramic cable car known as the “Dragon Ride”, from Kriens to Fräkmüntegg, a cockpit like cabin with floor to ceiling windows designed to give the sensation of flying. Learn the myths of the mountain on the Dragon Path, experience Switzerland’s longest toboggan run or enjoy one of the numerous hiking trails. Travel on the world’s steepest cogwheel railway down to Alpnachstad, before taking to the lake once again to travel back to Lucerne in style.      
Day 4  Mount Titlis    
Experience Titlis Rotair, the world’s first revolving cable car, as you travel from Engelberg to the snow and glacier topped Mount Titlis. Choose to walk across the spectacular Titlis Cliff Walk, Europe’s highest suspension bridge or head inside the 5000 year old glacier cave. On the way back down, perhaps stop in Trübsee to enjoy a scenic hike through the Alpine meadows to discover lakes, waterfalls, and wildlife such as the chamois and ibex that call the mountain home. Back in Lucerne take a sunset stroll beside the lake before sampling some local delicacies at one of Lucerne’s many restaurants.      

Day 5  Lucerne to Zurich      
After a leisurely breakfast board your train back to Zurich before your onward flight.
