Don your walking boots and get ready to explore Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary. As you venture into the lush jungle with your small group (max 6 people), keep your eyes peeled for gaur (Indian bison), sloth bears, elephant, Sambar deer and a variety of birds and butterflies. This moderate hike (approx. 6 hours/14km) takes you along mostly established paths and varied terrain – and the spectacular scenery calls for plenty of photo stops in between!
