Days 5-6 Auckland to Coromandel Peninsula

Days 7-8 Coromandel Peninsula to Rotorua
En route to Rotorua, visit Frodo on the Hobbiton Movie Set near Matamata. The following day, meet the shy rescue kiwis at Rainbow Springs Nature Park, then get up close to the bubbling mud pools and colourful craters at Te Puia Thermal Reserve.
Day 9 Rotorua to Tongariro NP
Continue to Tongariro National Park, home to dramatic volcanoes and many scenic walking trails.

Days 13-14 Abel Tasman NP to Kaikôura
Kaikôura is a haven for marine life, so today, embark on a whale watch cruise. As well as the chance to spot resident sperm whales, you might also be lucky enough to see dusky dolphins, cute fur seals and migrating orcas.
