Itinerary
On arrival in Santiago transfer to your hotel. The next day discover the highlights of this cosmopolitan city on a guided tour. Visit Santa Lucia Hill where the Spanish founded Santiago in 1541, the famous Plaza de Armas, wander the artistic neighbourhood of Bellavista and take in the spectacular views from San Cristobal Hill.
Day 3 Santiago to Hanga Roa, Easter Island
Fly from Santiago to Hanga Roa, the only town on Easter Island and transfer to your hotel.
Day 4 Anakena
Today, your guide will take you on a captivating journey around the island with tales of its history and legends. Discover the mysterious moai (giant statues), the Rano Raraku volcano and the beautiful beach of Anakena.
Day 5 Orongo & Ahu Akivi
Drive up the extinct Rano Kau volcano for panoramic views over the island. Continue to the ceremonial village of Orongo and later learn about the ’birdmen’ who scaled the cliffs searching for eggs in ritualistic rites of passage. End the day at the evocative Ahu Akivi site which has seven of the best preserved moai on the island.
Day 6 Hanga Roa to Santiago, Chile
Transfer to the airport and fly to Santiago where you will spend the night.
Day 7 Santiago to San Pedro de Atacama
Fly to Calama and transfer to your hotel in San Pedro de Atacama. Enjoy an excursion into the Moon Valley for a spectacular sunset over this unique landscape.
Day 8 San Pedro de Atacama
Explore the Atacama Desert. The highlight is the incredible Salar de Atacama, a vast salt flat which is home to flamingos and otherworldly natural sculptures.
Day 9 San Pedro de Atacama
Rise early to see the famous El Tatio Geysers at full power. Witness the swirling columns of steam from 64 geysers flanked by volcanic peaks.
Day 10 San Pedro de Atacama to Southern Altiplano, Bolivia
Cross the border into Bolivia. Journey past the shimmering emerald hues of Laguna Verde and the jaw-dropping crimson waters of Laguna Colorada.
Day 11 Southern Altiplano to Uyuni
Continue onwards to the spectacular Salar de Uyuni. Explore the Siloli Desert, isolated villages and stay in a hotel crafted of salt.
Day 12 Uyuni
Explore more of Salar de Uyuni, the world’s largest salt flat. Drive to Incahuasi Island at the centre and the impressive Tunupa Volcano.
Day 13 Uyuni to La Paz
Fly to La Paz, the world's highest capital.
Day 14 La Paz
Enjoy a tour of this compelling city and discover its highlights including the mysterious Witches’ Market and the dramatic pinnacles of Bolivia’s Moon Valley.
Day 15 Lake Titicaca
Head to stunning Lake Titicaca, the world’s highest navigable lake. Take a cruise to Sun and Moon Islands and learn about their importance to the Incas before visiting the small lakeside town of Huatajata.
Day 16 La Paz to Sacred Valley, Peru
Fly to Cusco and on arrival transfer to your hotel in the beautiful Sacred Valley.
Day 17 Sacred Valley
Explore the bustling markets at Pisac and the ruins of the impressive Inca fortress of Ollantaytambo on a tour.
Day 18 Sacred Valley to Machu Picchu
Take the train to Aguas Calientes to discover the magical Inca citadel of Machu Picchu – an unforgettable day!
Day 19 Machu Picchu to Cusco
This morning there is time to further explore Machu Picchu before travelling to Cusco by train and road.
Day 20 Cusco
See the city’s highlights including the Plaza de Armas, the impressive cathedral and the nearby Inca ruins of Sacsayhuamán.
Days 21 Cusco
Fly to Lima in time for your onward flight.
