Desert Delights

Day 1  Fly to Santiago, Chile    

Days 2-3  Santiago  
Arrive in Santiago and spend the rest of the day at leisure. The following morning, explore this sprawling capital city on a guided tour.    

Day 4  Santiago to San Pedro de Atacama    
Fly to Calama and drive to San Pedro de Atacama. Later, head to Moon Valley to see its otherworldly rock formations and watch the sunset turn the lunar-like landscapes into a kaleidoscope of colours.    

Day 5  San Pedro de Atacama    
Today is an exciting day exploring the Atacama Desert and the vast salt flats of the Salar de Atacama. Discover impressive rock formations, spot flamingos at high altitude lagoons and visit remote villages.    

Day 6  San Pedro de Atacama    
Rise early to see the famous El Tatio Geysers at their most active. Marvel at the swirling columns of steam that rise from the 64 geysers, flanked by soaring volcanic peaks. The afternoon is at leisure.    

Day 7  San Pedro de Atacama to Purmamarca, Argentina    
Travel along the high Andes road across the border into Argentina. Take in the spectacular views along the way as you pass glistening lagoons, stark salt flats and towering mountains.    

Day 8  Purmamarca to Salta    
Tour the Quebrada de Humahuaca, a stunning canyon crafted by the harsh desert winds, before heading to Salta.

Day 9  Salta    
Head out on a walking tour through the pretty city of Salta.    

Day 10  Salta to Cafayate    
Drive south through the Calchaquí Valley to Cafayate, located in Argentina’s high altitude wine country. Visit two excellent vineyards, the wine museum, and sample a few local wines along the way too.    

Day 11  Cafayate    
Enjoy a day at leisure to unwind at your hotel set amidst the vineyards.    

Day 12  Cafayate to Iguazú Falls    
Leave the desert behind and fly from Salta to the lush jungle setting of Iguazú Falls.

Day 13  Iguazú Falls    
Witness one of nature’s greatest wonders on a tour of the Argentine Iguazú National Park. Follow the walkways through the forest to marvel at these breathtaking waterfalls.  

Day 14  Iguazú Falls to Buenos Aires    
Today, visit the Brazilian side of the falls, which offer incredible panoramic views. Later, fly to Buenos Aires.

Days 15-16  Buenos Aires  
The perfect place to end your holiday, discover the various barrios (neighbourhoods) and watch a mesmerising tango show.  

Days 17-18 Fly home
