Itinerary
Day 2 Santiago
Upon arrival in this cosmopolitan capital city, transfer to your hotel and spend the rest of the day as you wish.
Day 3 Santiago
Tour Chile’s cosmopolitan and energetic capital city with a private guide today. Comprised of many contrasting and dynamic neighbourhoods, and with a backdrop of the snow-capped Andes Mountains, there’s no better place to start your holiday.
Day 4 Santiago to San Pedro de Atacama
Fly to Calama and transfer to San Pedro de Atacama. Later, head to Moon Valley to discover its surreal rock formations.
Days 5-6 San Pedro de Atacama
Spend the next days exploring different areas of the fascinating Atacama Desert and the oasis town of San Pedro de Atacama, known for its slow pace and traditional mudbrick homes. This unique environment is full of fascinating contrasts, from white salt flats to turquoise lagoons and striking volcanoes to bubbling geysers.
Day 7 San Pedro de Atacama to Santiago
Fly back from Calama to Santiago and enjoy the rest of the day and evening at leisure.
Day 8 Santiago to Cerro Castillo NP
Today, fly to Balmaceda and pick up your car on arrival. Drive to picturesque, Cerro Castillo National Park and check into 4★ Alto Castillo Lodge providing breathtaking panoramic mountain views.
Day 9 Cerro Castillo NP
Enjoy a day at leisure surrounded by the stunning scenery. Perhaps explore the area with a range of self-guided hiking trails that can be followed nearby
Day 10 Cerro Castillo NP to General Carrera Lake
Drive south to General Carrera Lake, along the Carretera Austral. This iconic route will lead you through remote wilderness, offering incredible Patagonian scenery of rugged mountains, glaciers and lush valleys. Stop en route at the extraordinary Marble Caves for a boat trip floating through the network of naturally formed marble structures and witness the stunning light reflections on the pink, green and blue coloured marble.
Day 11 General Carrera Lake
Spend today as you wish, admire the idyllic turquoise waters of the lake and venture to the quaint tourist town of Puerto Rio Tranquilo.
Day 12 General Carrera Lake to Coyhaique
Today, travel to Coyhaique for a night.
Day 13 Coyhaique to Colchagua Valley
Drive back to Balmaceda airport and drop off your car in time for your flight to Santiago. Upon arrival, transfer to the stunning Colchagua Valley wine region.
Day 14 Colchagua Valley
Embark on a wonderful day tour to visit two vineyards for wine tasting and a gourmet lunch.
Days 15-16 Transfer to Santiago and fly home
