Visit Mindo Cloud Forest, approximately 2 hours drive from Quito. En-route the forest there will be a stop at the rim of the extinct Puluahua Volcano. Once in the forest hike a trail through lush, epiphyteladen cloud forest along a creek, to the beautiful Pacaya waterfall. Your natuarlist guides will explain the ecosystem and point out unique flora and fauna en-route. Continue to the village of Mindo, home to a great diversity of bird life. Visit the butterfly vivarium before lunch in a local restaurant.
