Itinerary

Day 1  Antigua, Guatemala      
Fly to Guatemala City and on arrival you will transfer to the beautiful colonial city of Antigua. The rest of the afternoon and evening is free to start exploring this colorful city.  

Day 2  Antigua          
Explore the historical highlights of Guatemala’s former capital on a guided walking tour through the delightful cobbled streets.  

Day 3  Antigua to Lake Atitlán        
Drive to stunning Lake Atitlán. En route visit the highland town of Chichicastenango where you can haggle for handicrafts and multi-coloured textiles on market days (Sundays and Thursdays).          

Day 4  Lake Atitlán          
Enjoy a tour of this picturesque lake and visit the villages of San Juan La Laguna and Santiago Atitlán to experience the culture of the indigenous communities.        

Day 5  Lake Atitlán to El Petén        
Return to Guatemala City and fly to Flores before transferring to your hotel in El Petén.    

Day 6  Tikal          
Discover the magic and mystery of the ancient world with an excursion to the impressive Mayan site of Tikal. Explore the huge temples which rise above the canopy and gain a fascinating insight into local history and culture, as howler monkeys roar in the surrounding jungle.          

Day 7  El Petén    
Today is at leisure. Perhaps choose to take a trip to the mystical ruins of Yaxhá, or simply take the time to relax.  

Day 8  El Petén to the Cayo District, Belize    
Say farewell to Guatemala and cross the border into Belize. Explore the hilltop Mayan ruins of Xunantunich on the way to your lodge in Belize’s Cayo District.

Days 9-10  Cayo District      
With two days at leisure, explore Mayan ruins, sub-tropical forests teeming with wildlife and tranquil azure pools on jungle walks, challenging hikes or canoe trips. Excursions can be arranged locally from your lodge.        

Day 11  Cayo District to Ambergris Caye
Drive to Belize City on the Caribbean coast and fly to the beautiful tropical island of Ambergris Caye, known for its white sands, palm trees and clear waters.          

Days 12-13  Ambergris Caye          
Spend the days relaxing on a spectacular beach or take a boat trip for world-class diving and snorkelling in crystal seas to view pretty corals and abundant tropical marine life.      

Days 14-15  Transfer Belize City and  fly home
