Day 1 Mexico City
Upon arrival transfer to your hotel.
Day 2 Mexico City
Today discover vibrant Mexico city. Explore the Zocaló (main square), the Catedral Metropolitana and the Palacio Nacional.
Day 3 Teotihuacan
Travel to Basilica de Guadalupe, Latin America’s most revered religious shrine before heading onwards to the impressive archaeological site of Teotihuacan.
Day 4 Mexico City to Oaxaca
Head to UNESCO World Heritage listed town of Puebla and explore its historic centre, lined with churches and colonial mansions. Continue on to captivating Oaxaca.
Day 5 Oaxaca
Drive to the impressive archaeological site of Monte Albán, a UNESCO World Heritage Site spectacularly situated on a mountain above the Oaxaca Valley. In the afternoon explore Oaxaca. Browse the colourful markets and soak up the bustling atmosphere on the main square.
Day 6 Oaxaca to San Cristóbal de las Casas
Fly to Tuxtla Gutiérrez and enjoy a boat ride through the Sumidero Canyon, one of the most spectacular natural reserves in Mexico. Visit Chiapa de Corzo before continuing to San Cristóbal de las Casas.
Day 7 San Cristóbal de las Casas
Following a morning tour of the colonial city centre, head into the Chiapas highlands to the Tzotzil Indian villages of San Juan Chamula and Zinacantan.
Day 8 San Cristóbal de las Casas to Palenque
Drive to Palenque, visiting the beautiful Agua Azul waterfalls en route. The spectacular archaeological site of Palenque sits deep in the jungle and showcases some of the finest Maya sculpture and architecture discovered to date.
Day 9 Palenque to Mérida
Transfer to the airport at Villahermosa and fly to Mérida.
Day 10 Uxmal & Kabah
Visit Kabah with its amazing Palace of the Masks and continue to World Heritage listed Uxmal, one of the most important sites of Mayan culture. Return to Mérida.
Day 11 Celestún Biosphere
Travel to Celestún, one of the worlds largest breeding grounds of pink flamingos. Take a boat ride through the estuaries to observe the flamingo colonies. Later, stop for a refreshing swim at a cenote.
Day 12 Mérida to Chichén Itzá
Travel to Chichén Itzá and explore this magnificent site which is set within dense jungle.
Day 13 Chichén Itzá to Cancun/Riviera Maya
Transfer to Cancun airport or to the Caribbean coast for a relaxing beach break.
Additional Options:Our Classic Mexico tour ends with a transfer to the sparkling Caribbean coast where you can extend your trip with a relaxing stay on a white sand beach.
