Day 1  Fly to Lima

Days 2-3  Lima  
Upon arrival into Lima, transfer to your hotel and start exploring this dynamic city. The following day, discover the ‘City of Kings’ on a guided tour, uncover Peru’s fascinating history in the historical centre and visit the Plaza de Armas, Santo Domingo Convent and Casa de Aliaga, the oldest colonial mansion in Lima.

Day 4  Lima to Amazon Rainforest  
Fly to Puerto Maldonado, the gateway to the southern Amazon Rainforest, and transfer by road and boat to your secluded lodge. This afternoon, enjoy your first jungle excursion. Hike to the canopy tower and marvel at the spectacular views below you where the Tambopata River cuts through the dense forest.

Days 5-6  Amazon Rainforest  
Explore the biodiverse Peruvian Amazon and visit Tres Chimbadas oxbow lake, searching for giant river otters, caiman and fascinating birds such as the horned screamer. Later, venture into the rainforest after dark on a guided night walk to see how the sights and sounds of the rainforest transform at night. The next day, visit a farm in the community of Infierno.

Day 7  Amazon Rainforest to Sacred Valley  
Fly to Cusco and drive through scenic countryside, stopping at an Andean textile centre en route to the beautiful Sacred Valley, home to stunning mountain vistas and fascinating archaeological sites.

Day 8  Sacred Valley  
Today, visit bustling Pisac Market and find colourful stalls selling traditional Andean handicrafts. Later, head to the charming Inca citadel of Ollantaytambo, filled with cobblestone streets, cosy restaurants and home to one of the most impressive Inca sites.

Day 9  Sacred Valley to Aguas Calientes  
Journey by train to Aguas Calientes at the foot of breathtaking Machu Picchu before continuing the final stretch by road to the famous Inca site. Discover the fascinating history of the ‘Lost City of the Incas’, marvelling at its impressive ruins and verdant mountains.

Day 10  Aguas Calientes to Cusco
This morning is at leisure to enjoy exploring Machu Picchu independently before travelling to Cusco by train and road.

Days 11-12  Cusco  
This afternoon, enjoy a sightseeing tour of Cusco and the surrounding ruins. First stop is the main plaza, home to Cusco Cathedral. Continue on to Santo Domingo church, built upon the foundations of the Inca temple Qoricancha, before heading to the city’s nearby ruins, including the fortress of Sacsayhuamán, a magnificent example of Inca military power. The following day, explore this beautiful city at leisure.

Days 13-14  Fly home
