Itinerary
Days 2-3 Lima
Arrive into Peru’s buzzing capital and start exploring this dynamic city. Discover the ‘City of Kings’ on a guided tour, uncover Peru’s fascinating history in the historical centre and visit the Plaza de Armas, Santo Domingo Convent and ‘Casa de Aliaga’, the oldest colonial mansion in Lima. Also, enjoy the relaxed vibes of the Miraflores boardwalk, lined with cafés and parks overlooking the ocean.
Day 4 Lima to the Amazon Rainforest
Fly to Puerto Maldonado, the gateway to the southern Amazon Jungle, and transfer by road and boat to your secluded lodge.
Days 5-6 Amazon Rainforest
Explore the biodiverse Peruvian Amazon as you head out on exciting jungle walks and canoe rides. Look out for endangered giant otters, colourful Macaws flying overhead, squirrel monkeys clambering in the trees and caimans resting on the banks.
Day 7 Amazon Rainforest to the Sacred Valley
Fly to Cusco and drive through scenic countryside, stopping at an Andean textile centre en route to the beautiful Sacred Valley, home to stunning mountain vistas and fascinating archaeological sites.
Day 8 Sacred Valley
Today, visit bustling Pisac Market where you will find colourful stalls selling traditional Andean handicrafts. Later, continue to the charming Inca citadel of Ollantaytambo, filled with cobblestone streets, cosy restaurants and home to one of the most impressive Inca sites.
Day 9 Sacred Valley to Machu Picchu
Journey by train to Aguas Calientes at the foot of breathtaking Machu Picchu before continuing the final stretch by road to the famous Inca site. Discover the fascinating history of the ‘Lost City of the Incas’, marvelling at its impressive ruins and surrounding verdant mountains.
Day 10 Machu Picchu to Cusco
This morning is at leisure to enjoy exploring Machu Picchu independently before travelling to Cusco by train and road.
Days 11-12 Cusco
Experience this beautiful city with a guided afternoon tour. Once the beating heart of the Inca Empire, this historic history is host to a number of museums, delightful cafés, and a thriving foodie scene. Wander its charming cobblestone streets, admiring the blend of Spanish architecture alongside preserved Incan walls and bustling markets.
Days 13-14 Fly home
