Jungles, Orangutans & Beaches

Days 1-2  Sepilok  
Transfer to your lodge and settle into the serene jungle surroundings. Visit Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre where orphaned and injured orangutans are rehabilitated to prepare for life back in the wild. Observe these amazing animals at their morning feeding session before continuing on to the Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre to learn about this endangered bear species. Later head to the Rainforest Discovery Centre to walk the canopy walkway and climb observation towers to see the rainforest from above.        

Day 3  Sepilok to Kinabatangan River      
Today travel deep into the rainforest to reach your lodge. In the afternoon head out on a river cruise in search of pygmy elephants and crocodiles. This evening look out for nocturnal animals and creepy crawlies on foot.      

Day 4  Kinabatangan River        
Set off on an early morning river cruise when the jungle is waking up and birdlife is particularly active. Enjoy time to relax between activities before embarking on an afternoon river cruise, a great time to spot wildlife and perfect lighting for photography. Once the sun goes down, keep your eyes peeled for firefly colonies found on certain parts of the river.        

Day 5  Kinabatangan River to Poring Hot Springs        
Journey by boat and road to Poring Hot Springs. Make a stop en route at Sabah Tea Garden where you will have lunch with a tea tasting overlooking incredible views of surrounding plantations.

Day 6  Poring Hot Springs to Kota Kinabalu Beach        
Get a bird’s eye view of the rainforest from the 60m high canopy. Head into Kinabalu National Park for lunch and discover many exotic plants and birds on the scenic mountain trails before travelling to your beach resort near Kota Kinabalu.

Days 7-10  Kota Kinabalu Beach    
Spend your days relaxing on the idyllic beach or make the most of the resort’s facilities.
